I got my w810i about 3 weeks ago ad I'm having th same errors everyone else seems to be getting, plus another one yesterday that I can't seem to do anything about.

I transferred a file via USB to my phone and then clicked to safely unplug both devices from Windows. As soon as I removed the plug from the phone my phone stopped working. Instead of turning itself back on in regular phone mode it just sat there flashing at me for a while.

I got bored of the disco after a while and tried to turn my phone off only to find that I have to physically disconnect the battery to stop this non-stop funk machine.

I have tried everything I can think of to get this thing working, including the update service which informs me there are no updates and won't let me just reinstall the current firmware... I can't get to any menus on my phone to do a master reset, and I'm well and truly stuck.

I don't know what version of the firmware I'm using, but I bought my phone direct from O2 three weeks ago, so that might shed some light on the situation. If it does shed any light the chances are that the light will turn off and on intermittently... Fricking flash!

I think it means that I'm suing an old version of the firmware if my light keeps on flashing all the time, but I'm not sure.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciatedas I've gone back to using my K750i for the moment and the bloody stick on that thing seems to be broken. It keeps pressing the central button "ok" or "accept" when I want to scroll down, orother directions...

I'm getting annoyed with my phones not working because I love them so much.

I've been looking around a bit more and the problem seems to be similar to this K750 problem: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=122472

There is another mention of a similar problem in another thread, but it gets completely ignored over the course of 12 pages of replies to other posts...

I really think that if I could just force a firmware reinstallation then it would work, but I can't. Is there another free tool I could use other than the SE updater that will just install the latest firmware regardless of whether that's what I already have or not?

I don't mind overwriting with the same version, or even a lower version, I just want a working phone. I can always upgrade later on.

Super. I was planning to go down tomorrow morning anyway, but I wanted to avoid it if possible. If it's common then it may happen again and I can't really be bothered with 15 trips into town to sort something out when I could do it myself if they made the tools just one tiny bit better.

Oh well, thanks a lot anyway.
