Hi,

I have a pay as you go number with o2, now I just got myself a contract deal with them and they gave me a new number. I want to transfer the pay as you go number to my contract phone, do I need to request PAC from o2 and give it back to them for the transfer or is there an easier way?

Thanks

if you have an online genie sim card, where you top up with £10 a month and you get 300 free texts, then you do not need a pac code. thats only if you went for an online o2 contract, then you do not need it.

if you have a non genie sim card then you will need a pac code. you have to call o2 from your contract phone, and give them the pay as you go number. it takes 48 working hours to bring your number over from o2 online (genie) pay as you go, to contract. ( thats an online contract).

Hi,
I went into an o2 shop and explained that I wanted to transfer my number. They phoned o2 there and then (saved me the money ) and they explained that I was moving from o2 PAYG to o2 contract. Within 1hr, my old PAYG im got deactivated and immediately transferred the number to my contract.

I didnt need a PAC code or anything, they just used the mobile numbers and sim serial numbers. I think you only need a PAC code if you are moving to another network. If you are transferring within the same network, I think they can do it almost immediately.

If you want to call O2 and want to do it from home not just an o2 shop! (PAYG only) Ring the top up line and when it says for this press option 1 and for this press option 2 , press the number that it does not say, like 8, you will need to repeat this about 8 times and then it will give you the option to speak to customer services, for free!
