I have just become the proud new father of a w810i on the T-Mobile network and have just learnt my first lesson but would like some advice.

I took my phone out of my pants pocket yesterday to find that it was connected to what I think was t-zones.... For 22 mins!!!!!

How can I prevent this from happening again (lock the keypad I expect). Can I disable this "t-zone" feature?

I am now expecting a large bill for this mistake!

thats pretty much the only way unless you can delete the shortcut that gets you to t-zones

Assuming you're using GPRS (I doubt you're using dial-up!) then I wouldn't worry as you pay for data traffic, not the time you're actively registered on GPRS.

A few bytes won't even make up a penny, assuming T-Mobile charge anything for their own portal.

I think t-mobile charge an initial connection fee 20p or something and then the rest is done by kb's d/l, but I’m not sure because its been along time since I’ve used t-zones

I am not aware of any portal having a minimum cost, so I really wouldn't worry.

Get yourself signed up to Web & Walk (£7.50 a month) and you can download up to 1GB of data every month (and in reality, much more as long as you're not consistently over their 'fair use policy').

I think it would talk a month to download 1Gig anyway... Seems quite reasonable for the cost!
