According to the The Seattle Times, Nokia staff are forbidden to call the devices it makes 'phones'.
"We are forbidden to call them phones," said the vice president of multimedia strategy and business development. Instead, they're "multimedia computers."

I think they're trying to drop the word 'phone' as they're conceding that mobiles aren't really that good at making or taking calls on; much better to market them as mp3 players or cameras. |

perhaps theres a new strategy inside nokia... only releasing smartphones from now on... that would be cool
i like sonyericsson phones and u can mock nokia as much as u want but they do make the most advanced phones in the market, more than se, and the smartphones coming ou this year with the latest symbian os and over 300mhz of clock really are portable multimedia computers... the irony is that they re gonna cost as much as a ' real size' multimedia computer hahahah

Wait a sec..what now? Nokia are more advanced than SE? I dont think so Remember the T68i? First phone on the market with a camera and maybe a colour screen. First touchscreen phone (or "multimedia computers" lol) was the P800 which was again SE! Nokia got the mobile phone market going no doubt but now I gotta say that they're falling behind and just replicating other manufacturer's technology and using it differently in their products.
Sorry to go off topic, but couldnt just stand and watch SE get wasted for no reason
