I know this may not be news - i dunno whether it excists else where...but virgin mobile are now selling Nokia N70 for just under £350 - £349.99! I dunno whether this is cheap, because i am not interested. But i may switch back to virgin now that they have 3g.

They've had 3G for as long as T-Mobile, but although they now sell 3G phones (and any Virgin Mobile SIM card works on 3G if you put it in a 3G phone) there's no actual special content on offer, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know if video calling works on Virgin, but even if it does, you don't really benefit from 3G if you can only make voice calls or use a very limited WAP service.

there isn't special content, which is a slight downside to voda which i'm with atm - but then again virgin have cheaper txt 2 voda than voda 2 voda - weird eh?

i'm gonna hold off for a while i think - virgin are launching mobile tv in the summer, read somewhere - can't remember where though...but as ntl owns virgin, i expect it to be ntl mobile tv, whereas voda has partnered with sky.

there is video calling on virgin, but to be honest i do not use this...and i don't think i ever will - it's 30p per minute to other virgin + 58p per minute or something x-net. - £3 pm abroad, £1.50 pm to recieve abroad. to be honest, i don't know anyone else that has a 3g phone - so videocalling is pointless to me. thinking about it, now i use txt packs, voda isn't quite as expensive - and the £20 that i'd have to fork out to voda to get the phone unlocked (while keeping warranty) is definately not worth it...especially with voda's stop the clock - ok i'm decided - stayin with voda :S - i'll use another phone for free virgin 2 virgin txts this summer

Ive had a 3 g phone now for the last year on Orange and use video calling alot.

In fact im very impresed with it, I have just purchased a N80

3 of my firends havejust got 3g phones on 02, voda, orange and 3 and i can connect to every one so far except voda. But i think its more of a user fault than a voda one

I luv the service and like to chat on the video, So far 02 are using your monthly allowence on contract for the video mins and orange gives you 3 months on 30 3g mins to use.

I have a virgin sim and yes it does pick the 3g network up and has done for ages, however not used the video service.

3g will start to take of in the next couple of years as the phones are getting smaller and they look nicer.

Orange 3g is very wide spread and so far ive only not been able to get it in some parts of the country side that i travel to.

No probs in towns, citys or infact some parts i wouldnt even thought they would have had it.

My 02 3g is another matter, so far ive been able to use it a couple of times as the 3g network isnt very large, but i do no from july this should improve and ill improve over the next few years.

hope this helps
