Eyup all, i took delivery of me new N91 the other day and i have had all sorts of problems playing MP4, some 3Gp files, the real player just keeps saying it cannot play the clip, no help - nothing! Then today i tried installing a better world clock and it rejected the file saying "....sis installation is not supported.." needless to say i aint a happy badger as i have 100's of .sis that used to work on my other Nokia's ( 6630,6680, N70 and the like ) - can anyone please help an silly old man figure out whats happening? N91 is running series 60 V9.1... please help - anyone else had this prob?
cheers all

The newer versions of s60 are not backward compatible with sis files developed for earlier. I know someone who got a brand new 3250 and is facing exactly the same issue.

there is two things to think off, first that the latest s60 isn't backward compatible and second that it will only run signed applications

For now.. I doubt if it'll be too long before someone comes up with a solution. On the same note, i hope the new se phones runnin uiq 3 dont have similar issues

HI, thanks for all the replies, apparently these newer OS phones wont run .sis files, they will only run the new .sisx files, which means all the apps i bought for my previous phones are useless - thanks a lot Nokia! i for one will be complaining - i must have spent well over £300 on apps and stuff that are now useless, all this without warning too! Hmmm, guess i'll just have to stick with an older phone that i can use to its full potential as i aint spending oodles of cash on new apps!
cheers once again peopl, you have been very helpfull

Yep u right mate, and the baddest news is currently the 3rd apps maker havent release any apps on symbian 60 v9.1. ah yes maybe p990 may facing same problems here because uiq 3.0 based on symbian 9.1
