So yesterday I got home and found a 1gb M2 memory stick waiting for me so I thought, while waiting for a K800 to stick it in I'd post a few comparative piccies

Here is the packaging

and here is what you find in there

side by size with a transflash (micro SD) - front

and rear

and the transflash ontop of the M2 where you can see that the M2 is slightly wider

and finally a comparison between the full size memory stick, SD card, memory stick PRO duo and the M2 and transflash

lol, nice!

i am happy with the k800 (i want) using these M2's instead, its so funy comparing them with the duo's, and even the duo's are small. i haven't had the privilage of holding one yet, so i'll have to wait for my k800...

they're almost too small to handle, and I don't have chunky fingers...

they surely can't get any smaller in the next generation otherwise if you drop it you'll never find it amongst the dust on the floor!

I didn't know that it was almost the same size as the microSD. Abosolutely tiny!

What's that phone printed on the packaging? Looks like a K510 crossed with a K750.

I hope that they will make an adapter so you can use an M2 in a device that takes Duo's. At least then i would be able to use it in my PSP and camera as well as my phone like I do with my Duo's at the moment.

yep. it makes perfect sense to have such an adaptor.

Sony Style told me they didn't know of anything that Sony were producing but I am watching a few sites as some 3rd party will see the opportunity to produce this.

Thats assuming there is some compability between M2 and PRO duo of course

If it is compatible with memory stick pro then it is compatible with duo pro.

So will M2 and MSPD be manufactured side by side or does this spell the end of the MSPD and MSPD-equipped phones?

the P990 and W700, for example, are still going to be using the PRO duo so I guess they will run with both for a while yet

I preordered it a couple of months ago not knowing when it would be available, then forgot about it until it arrived on Friday!
