Looking for some advice as well as the sim,
I want to take my phone away this summer, but not my english contract sim. I have a W800, so im assuming that if my phone is unlocked then a different sim will work?
I don't know, anyway if anyone can help me understand *feels a bit dim!* and point me in the right direction of where to get one, I'd really appreciate it x

If your phone is unlocked, you should be able to swap SIMs. Here are the Indian networks: http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_in.shtml Ask on the India thread for more specific help (perhaps even to get you a SIM before you go).

(Do update in India thread) .. Say I am in Bombay, west India. Delhi is in north. That way.. You will find SIM 'easyly' & activation will tke few hrs. That is, if you dont bring ur num here/ roaming Or just take one OFF us/ ur frnds here. Hope u got gist of wat I said despite my spl way of writing. P.S. Opt fr GSM over CDMA !

Indeed,
If you have a unlocked phone,u shouldnt have much trouble in making it work in India.sim wont be a problem, its available easily and with variations.

If for some reason, you have to have it upfront (maybe give that number to ur family back home).. then probably .. only thing that comes to mind is, someone else taking it (in their own name) for you and sending it. An option Not worth it IMO.. Just come down here and phone number will be the last of your issues :D :D haha.. Nothing.. Just scare.ing you.. Other more imp stuff like climate, weather.. Work on your clothing etc.. BtW- if in Bombay (now called Mumbai), Iav a spare SIM
