K750i camera problems - version not listed in service menu |

Hey guys...first post here so excuse me if I didn't do due diligence trying to find a duplicate post.
I just bought a K750i from a guy who wasn't exactly up front about the camera issues that the phone had. The problem that I'm seeing is when either the camera cover is slid open, or the camera is selected in the menu, it flashes the camera interface, but then returns to the desktop (for lack of better words).
I've been reading up on various boards and have learned about a toggle in the camera cover that sometimes is faulty, or shakes loose. A lot of people haven't been clear if their camera actually do the same behavior as what I'm seeing, so I can't say if that's the problem or not. And before going down the path of fixing that, I'd rather exhaust all other possibilities.
The one thing that I'm very curious about is that I do *not* have a camera version listed in the "Software info" screen. I'm not sure why I wouldn't...unless the camera was completely screwed. Maybe a bad firmware upgrade or something like that might've wiped it and now the camera is all confused?? I'd *love* to hear people's thoughts and possible workarounds for that!
Any help that folks can provide would be greatly appreciated. |

Agreed - Try Flashing your phone. Do a master reset before and after. I flashed my son's k300 some ago and it ran out memory half way through which resulted in no camera version been dispayed on S/W info and camera problems. I cleared up the memory and flashed again which resulted in a camera version and fixed the camera. Could be a similar case for you. |

Cool. I'll give it a try. I'll reflash with a K750 firmware first...I eventually want to get it to a W800 firmware and gain "flight mode"...but I'm more concerned about the camera at this point.
Thanks folks...I'll try that in the morning. |
