things i like:
the camera is good (most of the time)
the sound is gr8
the memory is good for my needs
the gaming has good graphics
things i dont like:
the walkman freezes at times
the ariel
thats about it

PROS:
-size
-internal memory
-color (orange)
-sound
CONS:
-camera (worst than that of the K600/S700-1.3 MP class)

I am really wondering how come the 1.3 MP camera on this one is soooooo lame, compared with that of the K600i-at LEAST! As I consider the one on the S700i as more than a 1.3 MP cam !

But I find the cam on the K600i much sharper than that of the W550, considering they are both 1.3 MP cams  The BEST so far is that of the S700i's !

yeah the camera is a disappointment, i always get those dotted and grainy pics no matter how good i try.
just a question, are their any games specifically designed for 550, i mean those you can play in horizontal mode? |

Haha... @JN That's cos the cam on S700 uses a CCD instead of CMOS. But I think you already know that right? Anyway, that's why S700 has one of the best imaging capabilities even compared to the newer models, I'm sure you'll agree with me on that, JN.

the only thing i like about this phone is the swievel design thats thats all i like about it
because:
-lack of exe. memory (although u all say it's that it has 256MB int. but think about exe.memory, you can put information on the PC without the problem of keep switching it on and off simply take the exe. memory card and put in computer then straight back to phone) also exe. can hold up to 2GB
-also adding on to the memory part if you phone is screwed u can still have ur files in the exe.  think about that!
-exe.mem quick share.
-Camera quilaty is crap compare to other mobile lack of auto focus
-White screen of death, freeze your phone either reset your phone or cannot turn on, and only see white screen :S
sad.... W800i is a much wiser choice)

I'd take a w550 over my w800 at the mo cos w550 can do the over the air firmware upgrade thingy... Great help for people like me that haven't got a home net connection...

Some minuses I found in my w550:
1. Picture larger than 800 x 600 downloaded to the mobile cant be zoomed
2. Some files I downloaded to the mobile (i.e images,videos,java files) restarts the phone

pros:
mp3 player
decent memory for some people
good speaker quality
good graphics especially on games
good design
bluetooth and infrared
good video quality
cons:
low volume on radio
phone decides to delete some things randomly when memory is below 50mb
phone deciding to freeze sometimes
poor camera quality for 1.3 megapixel
wsoc - white screen of crash (phone freezes)
wsod - white screen of death (phone becomes unusable)
the wsod is the worst of all the cons. i have had to swap 2 550i's because of this problem. those of you who have not got this problem are really lucky.
this has happened to me whilst playing games, tranferring files with the pc.
please post other times when this has happened to you. i'm never going to get and se phone again!!!!!
does anyone know whether the new firmware solves this wsod problem. |

i just bout it for the Mp3 functionality. I was thinking of buying a MP3 player by sony like NWE507 but the 1 GB memory one costed 11000 Rs. and for that much money i Bought this phone. Now it has only 256 Mb of memory but with that it has camera plus a color screen plus speakers plus the Headphones supplied with it are better than with the walkman player plus its easier to load songs on the phone than on the Walkman Player plus its also a phone.
