Hi all, dunno if it should fit in any other thread, creating a new thread.

Y'day I got a pair of genuine HPM-70s for my K750, amd they are the best thing since the K750 itself. However, I got some queries, hope someone's kind enough to answer them...

1. When I walk, my own body movements turn out as "extra" bass tones "thump, thump, thump, thump...." - and get re-mixed with the music!! Can I do something to avoid it?

2. The "tornado effect", as i call it - some air still gets in, exp during walking on streets or parks, causing an annoying sound similar to what a storm makes when it gets through your windows - "swoooooooooooosssssshhhhhhwwwwwoooooooo" (LOL, sorry for being so phonetic...)

3. This's a bit of a techie question...approximately, how much sound reduction actually takes place after plugging in the earphones? "How much" as in Decibels, for example, these Fontopias reduce external noise by 10 DB

And some n00b questions...

4. Can i cut the large plugs to make small ones?

5. How soon do the plugs wear out? Where can I get spare plugs if the originals are worn out? Small size suits me best, and medium is okay as well.

6. How durable is the wiring in the earset? It looks so fragile. (The part that contains the earbuds and the 3.5mm jack and NOT the part which connets to the phone)

@ Cipri,
I find the quality of sound in my HPM70 to be excellent, and as far as the bass is concerned, i found it to a bit on the higher side - and sometimes that doesn't sound too well. (Most of the time, I'm on "megabass"). In that case, changing the equaliser setting helps much.

Maybe there's a quality difference between "supplied" headsets and "aftermarket" headsets? Also the cap size makes a lot of difference - i once tried the large cap, just for the hack of it, and i felt like i was wearing some cheap cr^ppy headset.

BTW I got mine as a genuine "supplied" one off a sealed W550 (Dont ask me how). Could have got it much cheaper off ebay but didn't want to take chances with a possibly fake one.

Also, do u experience the issues I mentioned in the 1st post?

Simply update your firmware and you shall understand why everybody says the HPM70's sound MUCH better then the handsfree supplied with the k750i.

I take it you have one of the old firmwares much like myself, they sounded horrible and disorted. Cup sizes dont techniqualy change the quality, they just alow the user to have snug fits. In one way yes, i guess it could be said the cup sizes are for better sound quality as it fits better for the user in order to get the full enhanced sound. But everybody is different, so cup size depends on the individual user.

Same here with my K750, I used the supplied handsfree but I decided to switch to HPM-70 and the sound quality greatly increased
BTW try to eat popcorn while listening music with your HPM-70 and let me know
