I had a smiliar problem with my ipod mini, just froze, nothing worked. I waited until the battery ran dry then recharged it and it works fine now.

@leeboy13
When that happens again just disconnect the ipod nano from your computer, and press and hold the menu and center buttons for 5-10 seconds so you can force it to restart and that should take care of the frozen state.
Sometimes it had happened with my ipod video and just had done that and it works like a charm after.

to be honnest ipods are actually quite resistant, so far I have droped mine (video ipod) in the sea, all I had to do was open it with a 15 inch bbq spatual and disemble it with a craft knife (coudnt find my normal screwdriver as I was in spain) then let it dry for a few min and it worked fine when back together and as im surprisingly tallented I didnt even damge the outside. Then last night I tipped coke all over it when it was in my jacket pocket it messed up for about 5 min then worked fine, i also sleep with it (nothing dodgey there) and as i roll about allot im surprised I havent smashed the screen. I drop mine quite a bit, through it a few meters regually, burried it in sand lol. In fact it should have broke by now, but its still goin!

LOL, you're crazy man, I can believe you treat your ipod that bad .
But, what I also can't believe is that your ipod is being very strong.
Go Ipods, go Ipods!
I just dropped my ipod video one time, and I got scared thinking it would break but it didn't !
