Hi,

Well im not to happy at the moment, i bought a 8800 off ebay for £222.50 from a guy with private feedback, he sent me the tracking number yesterday and i received it this morning but it was some cheap crappy jumper.
he ripped me off and now he is no longer a registered user, what can i do?
Can i still get my money back from paypal?

Thanks

Did you even pay by Paypal?
In that auction he says he doesn't accept paypal.

If you did then you should be able to get your money back.

Well it said this in the auction

"Cash deposits into my bank account only please. Thank you. NOOO PAYPAL I ONLY PUT I ACCPET PAYPAL SO I CAN DO 1 DAY LISTNINGS!!!!"

So I doubt he paid by paypal.

Also i'm not being funny but he had only 9 feedback which where private, no doubt for buying ebooks or something. Also his feedback was private and he registered a few days ago, and was offering the phone for a very cheap price with no secure method of payment.

I thought people would've stayed well clear of this one

um, achaully if he does reply to the complaint you are f**ked. The problem you have here is he acually sent you someting which means that you cant say you didnt get it, and normally they dont give a shit if they sent you something which isnt as described, and im also betting the guy doesnt have the extra insurance, which means that in theorypaypal only cover you up to £115.

I gota ask, but why did you buy that auction? I can see your not new to ebay and you should have seen it coming, the guy has 9 private fb, hes listed the phone for about £100 less then it normally sells for, hasnt listed all the included bits that match the photo, and wants bank deposit? It seems like it was a bit obvious?

Also out of curiosity was it a decent jumper he sent you? It just seems a bit odd to send a jumper of all things? You sure it was him who sent the jumper?

Also on another note, why havent you replyed to any of my pm's regarding the iPod charger you were meant to send me?

road runner, little bastard!

Id phone paypal up and explain the situation if I were you, your prob just end up on the phoen to somone in india, but it may help the situation, I know of a similar case with a nokia 8800, that happend to a friend, but they were 1000 down, they got most of it back in the end. O if u paid by paypal how is it linked to ur bank accounts? Credit card or debit card?

if I were you I would ring ur bank and tell them not to allow paypal to take any money from ur account, it will make ur paypal account deficit, and means you do not want to accept any payments from anyone to it, but it will give u more time

If there was no money in the paypal account when he paid, I would've thought the money would've already been withdrawn from the bank account? Unless he paid yesterday, as weekends take slightly longer I think.

You got the guys home address and details? If not request them through ebay, always handy to have.

hi,

im not sure why you think he wont reply to the dispute? he has got a tracking number, thats the only reason why he will have sent you a jumper is so he has got a tracking number to give to paypal,

Looking at his other sold items he has made about £2000 and i because he set up the account supposidely just for your payment his details will not be with paypal and if paypal/ebay have got details for him i doubt they are real. I think this guy is a proper scammer (dunno what i mean by that really) and will know what hes doing. i would contact the police like somebody else suggested and ring paypal as if you just leave it in the dispute i doubt you will win. Hope you get it all sorted mate!!

thanks
