Will miss those twin towers, I was right at the top of them exactly 2 weeks before they fell...

Hope nothing goes wrong with these.

Yeah i've since been to ground zero twice, the first time it felt really akward and eerie, espcially after being there firsthand to see the huge towers there, and then they're gone. Wasn't a good feeling.

I hope this one will be CRASH proof . . . and have FLARES just in case that a fighter jet will hit it with it's missiles ! [addsig]

Yes, clearly Flares will prevent any damaged from missiles.

got goosebumps after looking at the pics.

yeah, i feel for ya. used to hang out at the children's section of Borders there all the time whenever i'd check out the gadgets over at J&R. i remember way back when... the area was always bustling with people. most days it feels eerie over there - even a few blocks away. now there aren't as many people, but i think that's slowly turning around.

I think it's a symbol of defiance this building, building it taller and saying 'we're not scared of you'

Though calling it the 'Freedom Tower' is a bit corny!

@ECS, yes, I'd like to see you pictures, if Axxxr doesn't mind them being posted here, or perhaps start a new thread for it, and make sure you state you don't want people debating/arguing/flaming in the thread!

One of the most striking features of Ground Zero was the relative quiet. Manhattan is awash with noise and bustle, but one notices the change in atmosphere at Ground Zero. It was really just a big hole in the ground when I was there, most of the clearing work had already been done. The girders in the shape of a cross was one of the only reminders that two massive buildings had once stood there.

In the Village there is an informal memorial to 9/11 with people posting pictures and messages on a wall. We were on a tour at the time and so we whizzed right past it, but I would have liked to have gone up and read the messages and look at the photos.

I would have prefered two new towers instead of just the one...I think the new york skyline just isn't the same with just one. [addsig]
