There post release date is July.

I can however tell you that the software on the phones will have the icons down the left hand side of the screen like all the other Orange branded phones seem to have now adays.

Orange may or may not remove the feature of letting you update the phone over the net. (GPRS)

Hope that helps

They are putting them back on? How annoying, they had them on the K700 and i ruined the phone, they took them off on the K750, i will definitely cancel my orange contract if i can't get rid of them.....WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS????

They are even worse than the K700.

Have you seen any of the Samsungs with the icons down the side of the phone? Well the SE phones are going to look the same.

And the Nokia 6280 when its finaly released will have the same icons, this is why orange have delayed the phone, Currenlty they are having problems with these icons on the nokias.

It will be a common feature with Orange, as they are trying to make ever phone look and do the same, its what the call Orange Signature Device.

This will make people pick any phone up and be able ot use the features easy. So the icons on the main screen are all alike so it doesnt matter if its a samsung or SE. The icons are the same so you will no where to look.

Sorry for the news

Dam, is so annoying orange do this. Don't they realise that nobody wants these icons?! l guess the p990 will have the icons on the desktop screen aswell? Just as the p910i did? Will switch to o2 if they do. Could anyone tell me what o2's 3g data plans are please?

Thats the problem, Some People do like the icons as they dont use the full features of the phone.

People also dont like to change and thats another problem.

I dont work for Orange but get to know a little bit about them and try to find as much info i can. I was 110% loyal but thats gone and thats a shame.

However what has stunned me is there attitude to customers.

Had a walk into the 02 shop today and god they couldnt do enough for you.

He was polite, helpful to say the least, i even said that im not switching just yet, no problems explained everything so for marks a whopping 10. He didt try to sell me anything and was happy just to listen. he even went further and gave me some sound advice.

Went into the Orange shop (other Week) and wow what a difference, was polite and helpful but all they wanted is to sell me a phone, after i said i was waiting another month they lost interest. Like i was dirt.

Thats not good to look after exsiting customers or to new ones

Customer care is now about the same, you can sometimes get a good person but there seems to be more bad one, I have a charge on my bill for 6p. I just rang to asked why i was charged, what really pi**ed me of was well its only 6p!!

Not good

Yeah i totally agree dude, their customer care has gone down hill, on the phone i've had very good experiances before, they way they don't reward their long standing customers is discraceful. I'll probably stay with them because of were i live Orange is the best for reception, will have to get rid of that crappy firmware though!

an interesting conversation going on there.

the only reason i am going to stay with orange is because I got them to match the old Three tariff of select 750 any network anytime mins for £35 a month!

otherwise i would go vodafone i think as coverage is king!

cheers everyone

If you're thinking of moving to Vodafone because of their better coverage and less branding than Orange I'd think again.

Vodafone do the same to their phones, all the menu's are the same from phone to phone and they look rubbish. Just have a look on their website at a few of the phones and you'll see.

If you don't want your phone played around with I'd choose O2, they seam to leave them alone, apart from the startup screen.

Orange, Voda and T-mobile customise there phones,
02 Change the start up and eng logo to there own this is all.
T-Mobile and Orange change the logos and Orange change all the icons, T-Mobile change odd one.

Voda is the only network to lock there phones down, dont allow you to put on your own mp3s without paying, The customiseing is dreadful worse than Orange.

all the other 3 networks allow you to do what you want to the phones. Although Orange take some features of the phone so they can add theres.

Orange, Voda prob have the strongest networks, 02 prob next and T-mobile last.

However I believe 02 just won the best performing networks with least drop calls and the most succesul connections.

Hope this helps
