it' been 4 months since i bought the T68i with the mp3 player. but guess how many times i've actually managed to get the mp3 player woking properly as a hands-free. most of the time i can hear the other person but they can never hear me. sometime i can't even hear them. is anyone finding same problem?

sometimes yeh - I take it you've removed the headphones & put them back in again?? the 'ring' on the jack input is a bit dodgy, to say the least - my mp3 suffers from connectivity issues - i think they all do. [addsig]

Read a lot about probs with the headphone jack and I had the same prob, it was wobbly, didn't activate the mic or the sound was shite. I just read on another post that you really need to shove the jack in real hard, don't worry about feeling like you're forcing it cos it really does need a good shove. Then it will work as a handsfree and the sound is excellent.

Ahem! Not one to blow my own trumpet or anything but I do believe I answered this problem first on your original post about a quiet mp3 player:

lol, I noticed the same thing. The mp3 player I ordered just arrived today, was very impressed, so lightweight etc. but the headphones were pissing me off, felt like the jack was faulty, was fiddling about with it trying to get it to give the best sound possible. Was kinda worried until I decided to give it a good shove in, it did the job nicely , the sound is class now.

Oh, one thing I dont understand yet, is how to get to the mp3 menu from the normal standby screen. So far ive just been plugging it in and out and it asks for "Play now?" I cant find any "Play mp3" option in the menus. :/

First I used Real One player (free from real.com) to copy the CDs from my hard drive. I used a transfer rate of 56k/s and got reasonable sound and fit about 20 tracks onto the 32 meg card.

But that just ain't enough so I got a 128 meg card from crucial which fits over 2 hours at 96k/s, much better sound. I also got a PCMCIA card reader instead of that awkward parallel port reader as I use a laptop. All works fine.

Oh and the left speaker (I think) is the one with the mic on the same side.
