Hi all

I just (5 days ago) got my W900i the other night I was coping files over from my Pc to the phone (2gb card actually), anyway my PC crashed and when I checked my phone afterthe screen appears to have frozen.
When i turn the phone on a get a solid white screen for a few seconds then . get a screen which shows my background, a no signal image and the battery indicater. Then just below there it says "Select"(on the left) and "Info"(on the right).

Sometimes It seems I can get access to the walkman(which will open on screen) and cycle through the different options althought the only thing that changes is the "select" and "info" buttons.

I've emailed sony ericsson for help but only been given a case number no fix as of yet, so any real help would be great, thanx..

1. off to the service centre
2. if the phone is not screwed up already try updating the firmware!
3. throw it in the bin and get a new one

cheers,

LOL
I thought as much. Last time i connect a phone to my PC. Why the hell didn't they have an option on the cd to reinstall the phones software and setting, u'd think that would make their lives easier.

You ring them up,
Tec Guy: "Hello Mr Customer how can I help?"
Customer:" Well my phones completely frozen"
Tec Guy: "Oh not a problem sir. Just connected it to a computer
and run the file called Factory Reset. That should do the job"
Customer: "Well what a great idea that was, to put a factory reset on the software CD makes life alot eaiser... Thank, Bye"

Its a crazy dream I know. But one day there maybe a company with the common sense to make everybodies lives slightly more hassle free.

@BlueRayMan

Initially I thought this problem had occurered when your computer crashed and then had righted itself, but it seems to be the case that your handset still isn't functioning properly.

Beyond the advice given to speak with the service centre chaps you might also like to consider flashing the handset yourself. It's relatively easy to do, but of course you will void your warranty. The advantages are that you can do it in less than an hour from the comfort of your own home and the firmware you flash it with will be the generic SE firmware so you will get rid of the Vodafone branding. Of course if you like the branded firmware this might not be the best option for you.

For a guide to flashing a W900 using DaVinci click here.
