Hello guys, i just realised that my phone did not detect whether the lens of the camera is open or not , and thus i opened it to see what was happening, and i saw that the littlie plastic switch that detects whether the lens is open or not was broken.

Any ideas if i can fix it? Or my only option is to take it to an expert?

I am still on warranty however i dont know if they will accept to fix such a thing for free....

this also happened to me, you can if you are careful manually operate the switch to the camera on position, i did this with a cocktail stick, and then set up a shortcut on the joystick.all you have to do then to operate the camera is open the lens cover and then move the joystick in the direction of the camera shortcut you have made, hope this helps

cheers

cool thanks, i tried switching it on, however i did not know were exactly to look for this switch...

There are two small holes were i think this plastic switch was initially. Is it over there i should "touch" to activate it?

those two small holes are actually one hole with the remainder of the switch showing, carefully use the cocktail switch to move it to the on position, my girlfriend is still using my old k750 with the joystick shortcut now, hope it works for you

Thanks for the help, the camera now is always on.

Basically i have used a toothpick to turn it on. The whole plastic has come off and thus i just pressed a bit the hole with a toothpick and the camera is always on... I 've found the plastic

Thanks again!

these are the two pieces of the plastic...

If you want it fixed you will need to replace the Camera Flex Cable which is an easy job to do and will cost you around £8

Why don't you just get it fixed? And how did you break it in the first place?

err... i don't think you can still use the warranty option, as you have opened the phone and tinkered with its hardware. i think warranties of any kind becomes void if such scenario has happened. you may want to try to fix it yourself though...
