Yep read it - as has most in this forum(probably). Don't take this comment negatively - it is just an observation and personal experience. The review mentioned is now rather old and comparisons to the K750/w800 are still common. Whilst the k750/d750/W800/w810 may have the best pictures for a 2mp camera phone there is still a long way to go. I have got some really good shots out of my w800. But, I have also had some really average/poor shots. I have probably had more average/poor shots than good. It mostly seems to depend on lighting or how still you can keep. Low light shots are apalling!! Thank god that the latest F/W has resolved the camera lag problem. The lag in the previous F/W's was pretty bad. I am also still a little let down by the vertical grid lines I can see in any dark portion of a photo taken by a K750 or w800.

Ya Dude... Camera phones, even the good ones such as the W800i & newer sony ericsson ones will still produce about 70% rubbish pics. But its the quality of the other "good" 30% that count.
For "Good Digital Photography", i have a Fuji Finepix S7000, which is certainly among the better digital cameras out there.
I used to be an ardent disbeliever in camera phones. But then, i realized its not always possible to lug around my S7000. Thats where these "good" camera phones really come into their own. I have been able to capture more spontaneous "moments" on my w800 in the last 3 months than in the whole of last year with my S7000.
And sorry for posting old stuff... I JUST got my W800i... so its still a "new" phone for me... |
