One of the changes that will come into effect for O2 customers on 1st June is that 07744 calls will no longer be part of your free minutes; they will be charged separately.

Is this enough reason to cancel your o2 contract as costs have risen above inflation?

Yes, a link please. I've just been looking though O2's site and can find no mention of this - neither have I received any notification yet from O2 of a change to their T&C's.

Where did you hear of this?

Thats will give you the idea.
07744 is a Service that lets you dial say abroad but you dont have to pay for it. When you dial this number it will come out of you free mins.

Well it does on Orange still

Service Enhanced on Orange for 07744 9744 39 (30/03/2006)

Orange and our service providers have now added many more lines to overcome the recent congestion problem. The service is now running fine without any problem. Use this service to dial your favorite destinations from your Orange Cross Network Minutes

So the networks no about the system?

Orange seem to promite it by adding more lines?

Don't believe they ll let you cancel your contract over this to be honest.

The charges maybe be over inflation etc, but this service is avoidable (you dont have to use it) so the charge isnt forced upon you... that's afaik anyway.

amnesia - T-mobile have always charged for 07744 numbers, not relevant to them.

When t-mobile increased text message costs, people were able to get out of there contract. Its a service that is avoidable, you don't have to use text messages?

Apart from voice calls, all services offered by a network are avoidable, they are extra services that you elect to use.
