This W810i from SE/Vodafone is awful! I got it becuase my K750i's joystick had paked up rendering the phone useless. The W810i's geared up to make me spend loadsa money, like a yuppie in a strip club. The right (phone's left) button goes to 'live!' - the £nternet, every time I want to send a text, the 1st option is to send an 'MMS', and if I want to, in the menu, I can convert my 10p text into an MMS and at the same time give out all my PIN numbers to the crack addict on the other side of the road. I don't mind that there's a Vodafone sticker where the quickshare one should be (the vodafone one doesn't look like it'll fall off) and the Walkman thing sure looks like my iPod after having too much Sunny D, but the menu's have gone all funny and dont really look like what I want to do - for entertainment, there's a Dice. Now stop me if i'm looking into this too much but that says to me 'Gambling' - and under it there's Video DJ. That's not right. The radio looks like a camera, the camera looks like a toaster and the 'Vodafone live' (it's not really a button) looks like a map to west africa. Who wants to go to west africa? The only one recognise is the W. Walkman bit and the file manager looks a bit like a paper file. But the messaging icon looks like a gum drop wrapped in plastic with little twiddly bits on the side. Now as a solution to the problem, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can rid myself of these grievances and restore the Sony Ericsson original stuff- much like in the good old days of the T610?

yes that seems pretty bad tbh...same on my v600i...i can understand videodj being under entertainment, because your basically trying to make the video that you just filmed alot better than it would be otherwise, for you entertainment. i don't get why it's a dice for entertainment still...because that could easily be inturpreted as being a link to their online 'entertainment' gambling site or something (don't vodafone have one?!?) - the MMS as default message send is annoying on the v600i (probably more so because the joystick will end up pointing down permanently if you have to go down through menus all the time.) personally i only use the joystick when i have to, at other times i use the soft-buttons and keypad to navigate around and play games. right, another thing i don't get about voda-branding, is the 'Organiser & Tools' logo, is a little pack of cards next to a calculator?!? this looks like it hasn't been changed since times when sonyericsson phones didn't have java, or since they have had applications in a different place to games - don't you see playing cards a GAME, not an APPLICATION!?!?!?!

nevermind - once my warranty's up it'll get flashed with original k600i + unlocked anyway - still erm...21months! - also does anyone get it when they try to sell you insurance for half the price of the phone?!? in six months time if i lose the phone, this phone will be cheaper, i will be able to buy this phone, or better for little more than what you'd have payed for the insurance...and remember this is IF you lose the phone, or water damage or anything. I suppose the water damage may be worth it...but the other stuff i don't see the point, as long as you block the phone through operator when it gets stolen straight away..........anyway - sorry for going off topic...

what were the voda-branding logos on the T610 / T68???

any pics of how vodafone ruined it? personally i hate networks that feel the need to stick their crap all over it and change the menu's etc, fine a vodefone live feature in the menu, but other stuff sucks, ruins quality phones.

Vodafone do this to most of their phones and I can't stand it. It's all done to tie in with their 'Vodafone Live' service.

It's got standard icons throughout it so that you won't be confused when you go online. HOw stupid do they think we are?!

I just got a w810i on Orange, and although they have also made changes to the menu icons, I find them much less grating on me.

When will Vodafone (and Orange) learn that people expect different phones to look and work differently from eachother?

I can't believe that the default 'Compose' option is MMS!

That's shocking! Thank goodness for DaVinci is all I can say!

I debranded it and it's much, much better. I never use the internet so it's not set up and same with MMS. Now they can't get me at all!! Works brilliantly, i'd say it's as good as my old k750i - but the speaker quality isn't as good so when i'm chatting in the car it's harder to hear, but hey, I should listen to my friends more and pay less attention to the road. It makes us closer to God either way.

Thanks Esato people!
