Hi, would like opinions of what is the best UK 3G Network for pre-pay customers. I'm on o2 and am quite happy with the on-line pre-pay tariff where you get 300 texts free and 1mb GPRS. Do any UK network sell 3G sims seperatley? It appears with o2 you need to buy a handset to get the 3G USIM but say you wanted to get a P990 when its released I think theres little chance of o2 getting it on pre-pay for a long time. Thats why I always buy sim free handsets. Whats your opinions? do any other networks offer better?

3 have arguably the best 3G coverage in the UK and I believe they offer a PAYG deal that gives you credit when you receive calls and texts.

Orange are currently matching the o2 pay and go sim with 300free text and 1mb gprs or even more text if you top up more -
£10 300 1MB
£20 600 1MB
£30 1000 1MB

ive found orange 3g coverage to be much better than o2's but youll have to corfirm if you can use 3g services if you just buy a sim.

3 sell payg 3G sims separately.

You might as well buy a k608i from The Link.co .uk and test the network out.

Whats the chances of o2 or Orange getting a P990 on pre pay when its released do you think? Its just normally with pre pay handsets they take forever to come out which is why I always go for sim free handsets. Also can you buy an Orange 3G sim on its own?

The P990 wont be out on pre pay for ages, if at all. Not direct from O2/orange at least, maybe the CPW will though.

You can buy a sim from orange but im not sure if it will allow 3G access. I've emailed orange to ask just waiting their response

Thought so, I emailed Orange earlier today also asking. Proberly will have to get a sim free P990 (I dont like branding anyway which is another reason why I go for sim free handsets)

Really dont see why o2 dont sell 3G USIMS seperatly, I would think it would get more on there 3G network. Really just looking at best options now.

Yes, u can buy orange 3g sims separately, just go to an orange shop. Cost £5. Be very surprised if the p990 is available to buy on payg even after its been available for 6+ months.

Firstly I noticed you've asked this question in a couple of threads, one thread is plenty mate

In answer to your question, it is nigh on impossible to unlock BB5 Nokias like the 6630, 6680, N70, etc. at the mo. There is an unlock calculator that claims to be able to, but mostly it fails (and uses up one of only two tries you have to unlock via a code). People are working on a fully working calculator, but at the moment your best bet is to phone the phone company it's currently locked to and get them to unlock it, usually £15 GBP or so.
