everytime i would transfer file(s) that is more than 100mb from mem stick to PC, i get "cannot transfer FILENAME. The parameter is in correct." message... i have to unplug and reconnect the USB then transfer the file again... most of the time, the same error message would pop up again... what seems to be the problem?

naku.. you want to change firmwares pala... hence you gotta go for www.davinciteam.com

kailangan ikaw mismo makabasa nung mga procedures para hindi ka maguluhan. go to the site and investigate.

just a tip: since our thread is not on the local ones, let's converse in english so that other people who doesn't understand our language may understand what we're saying...

but it makes me wonder, aside from being able to read chinese characters, why would you want to change your firmware to an ASIAN one? i have an ASIAN firmware, although not the same phone), and it's not able to search the phonebook using more than one characters! i went to the shop in glorietta to question the odd behavior, and they told me that it's the problem with ASIAN firmwares...

if you want, we may just exchange firmwares... (just joking; exchanging firmwares is impossible because we have different units)... hehehe...

i see... if you're really sure you'd want to change your firmware from EURO to ASIAN, you may do so using the DaVinci site as pointed by rockygali in an earlier post. it's quite easy to do; you need the following:

  • a data cable (the cable supplied with your W800 would suffice),

  • credits for flashing (you buy them @ the said website or from other people who have them),

  • and an internet connection to download the firmware files to your PC.

also, be informed that reflashing your phone may void your phone's warranty (if it has one) and may render your phone unusable if something goes wrong along the way... but once you get it done i'm sure you'll be proud of yourself!
