when you listen to music with w800i, can you make it louder any other way than pushing the + button? I was just thinking that why is the music louder in w550i than w800i?

you can fiddle with the equalizer settings, if you want.

w550 is louder than w800 because of the 3 large stereo speaker grilles.

open the walkman app.

more > equalizer > megabass OR choose preset and turn them all way up.

i know two methods, the easy one,the one which loses a lot of quality but gives a boost on sound, and the harder one which also loses some quality while also giving a boost. The easy one is to go to manual equalizer and put the bars at the top (all of them). The harder way is to put the first bar at the top,the second bar two levels lower, the third one,one level lower than the second bar,the third bar one level higher than the third bar,and the last bar at maximum. This configuration should give you quite a boost on the speaker whilst still keeping some quality. If you want boost through you earphones, then you should do the same thing just a level or two lower(for example, instead of placing the first bar at the top you place it one or two level lower and you do the same with the other bars, the ideea is to keep the ratio from my first example)

"all the way up" method really puts volume to the max! [addsig]

yes, it does maximizes the sound, but it reduces quality...

tip for everyone: get an earbud and clean the insides of your ears. it will surely help in getting your desired maximum volume...

A third way is to set the equaliser to your favourite pre-set, then go back to the equaliser, select manual, and push each of the bars up 2 or 3 notches. That way you keep the 'shape' of the pre-set but increase the volume

put all bars up to the max then put them all down two and it gives a good boost with good quality.
