Well Motorola have done it again with the colours. This time its the L6's turn. You can now get silver, blue, green, pink and orange.

You probabely already know about the PEBL's new colours, along with the V3i and now the V3x which is gonna be available in black orange and silver.

There will also be i mode versions of the L6 and L7. The L7 will have a 1.3mpix camera, the L6 a VGA

Oh no...here we go again, Moto.
Anyone see that reddish anodised V3i now being advertised in the new CPW catalogue...complete with iTunes software? (didn't they learn from the unsuccessful ROKR etc...?!?)

There's always Tipp-Ex if you've got a steady hand...
LOL, seriously though, you woulda thought that they considered an en vogue, matt-ipod-type-white colour; particularly with Moto's strong links with Apple.

i love variation.
I loved it when Nokia released many versions.

Wish SE would follow suit.

Yeah, variety be the spice of life, but Nokia usually have the different colour availability roughly around the same time, give or take a few weeks or so.
However, it seems to be a simple marketing ploy of Moto (again) to offer the wider range of colour spectrums only once the more conventional silver or black handsets have become almost commercially saturated; thus kinda trying to maintain interest and focus/exposure on these handsets long past their initial launch and market availability.

people say it's a marketing ploy, but you should think about it from two views.
1) If you were motorola, wouldn't you want to get the most out of a product
and
2) nobody forces people to buy all variations, it just gives people a bigger incentive.

For example,
the Nintendo DS colour variations. With the SP, I didn't buy it until I saw the color I wanted, then I snatched it up.

Correct, and I'm genuinely not condemming them for doing so, even if I've had a bit of a snigger and a dig at their obvious tactics.
No harm in that either.

Indeed, who can blame Moto and obviously once they saw the benefits of this strategy with the RAZR colour spin-offs, it was surely only a matter of time before the PEBL and SLVR handsets got the same treatment.

I guess its fair enough if they want to suck every last bit out of their phones, it does make good business. Actually the L6 looks much better with the extra colours. Time for SE to do the same thing with a few more models; remember the thread with W800 colour variations.

I think instead of releasing so many different colours for phones why dont they do what you do in B&Q and pick your own colour. Just sit there and say i want the front cover this colour and the backlight to be this colour etc... much more exciting.
This whole phenomena is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a government agenda.
