Ok, its got to a point where theres nothing on the market that really blows me away so im gonna settle for something middle of the road, my dillema is what to get out of the n70 or the w800?
The w800 is ugly as sin (in my opinion) but is small, quick and easy to use but very similar the the k700 ive been using recently.
The n70 is bigger and slower but looks better and would be a chance from SE's for me.
Anyone care to advise or offer their opinion?

Have you thought about getting the W810i ? its pretty much the same phone as the W800i, just slightly updated, and its black.
If you're bored of SE phones (like myself at the moment), you could give the N70 a try, its apparently a very solid Nokia handset. Personally i'd give it a miss and either go for the N91 or N80 both of which are coming soon.

ive looked at the w810 and again it just doesnt blow me away, maybe im just expecting too much so for the time being id settle for a w800 or n70 as the two new nokias are dam ugly again.
im really tempted by the n70 but im worried it will be too big, too slow and just different to the SE's im used to.

What features are you most interested in?
MP3 / Camera / 3G, etc?

Its the same dilemma for everyone, especially when you've grown to expect SE quality as standard.
Its like, if you were to buy the N70, you might be disappointed with the camera quality, the sound quality, the poorer quality of the headphones supplied, the build quality of the phone (Nokias tend to creak like hell), and then theres getting accustomed to the Symbian OS and S60 interface.
No matter how great the phones may be, they're not SE's. Right now im trying to weigh up whether to go for a N80 or N91, or get a K800i. I want a smartphone, but i also want the 3mp quality that the K800i will give me that no other phone right now can. Then theres also the P990i which i do want, but its also lacking one or two key things i'd like from my phone.

Since MP3 and camera features don't matter much to you - you can safely go for the N70 - At least it looks a better than the w800/w810, and you'll definitely have lots of things to experiment with - lots of those wonderful symbian softwares that I am dying to try out LOL!
But be ready for the frills that come with a symbian phone though - delays, crashes, and of-course the trademark "nokia build" (big on size, small on durability).

Ive come to the conlusion i'll always have to carry two phones to satisfy my needs.
So now its a dilemma of choosing K800i / P990i / N80 / N91, which would go best with which ?
K800i & N80 ?
K800i & P990i ?
N91 & P990i ?

i think im gonna have to give the N70 a try, the w800 apart from looking ugly just doesnt do it for me with the joy stick and im not convicned for the w810 so looks like i might have to try the dark side

It cant hurt, especially if you can afford to go back to SE soon after buying the phone.

the "dark side."
i currently have my eye on the N70/3250 as well. they're of decent size, and not as ugly as most other Nokia phones, so to me they're gonna be tolerable. i personally don't think that the W800 & W810 are ugly... i hate having a phone that makes me look as if any minute now i'll be getting a call from a business associate in japan. lol. the w810 works just well with my slacker-ish sense of style.

I didnt really like the N70. It just didnt live up to the expectations. Its good for the 1st week then just gets boring. Id say W800 is a all round good choice. The N70s metal scratches easily and is bulky and felt cheap to me. Not as solid as what it looks. Entirely up to you though mate

Hold out for roughly another 4 weeks matey and give the N80 a go if money allows, spec wise and it looks a good phone.

again, i think it looks ugly. its a matter of the w800 or n70 and i think the n70 is winning on not having a joystick and it just being different.
Ive just got a feeling that if i go for the w800 im going to be disappointed that its not that different to the k700.
