Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new thread about the Bluetooth Headset units (new or older) available around the world. Their pluses and minuses will be throughly examined, focusing on their quality.

How about using this grid for upcoming reviews?:

- Technical details (Bluetooth class, 1.1, 1.2, 2.0...)

- Sound quality (earpiece): out of 5 (includes volume, power...)
- Sound quality (microphone): out of 5 (sensibility, clarity, frequency response)
- Built quality: out of 5
- Overall design: out of 5
- Range of operation + sensibility: out of 5 (capable of being used with phone in pocket or through walls without breaking up connection?)

- Personal comments
- Any bugs ?

Please include some pictures to illustrate.
Happy reviewing !

My first contribution:

MOTOROLA HS-810

- Bluetooth 1.1 only
- Foldable mic to save power (greatest idea!)
- Fits both ears

- Sound quality (earpiece): 4.5/5
- Sound quality (mic): 4/5
- Built quality: 5/5
- Overall design: 4/5
- Range of operation + sensibility: 5/5 (absolutely stunning)
- Personal comments: great piece of unit, bought it after four trails of other brands inlcuding SE, and this one was the most reliable. Range of operation is pretty awesome, much better than any other SE products.
- Some bugs were observed by some users (compatibility...). Firmware updates on phone seemed to have solved them.

MOTOROLA H605

Received mine today by the mail:

+ Great volume incoming
+ party told me I sound clearer and louder now
+ conmfort is alright
+ great talking time
+ wonderful design
+ cap to protect plug (charger)
+ reasonable price (51 Euros shipping included via Ebay and from Hong Kong, brand new. Does not even sell in France where I live!)

- VERY difficult to put and adjust on ear (before, my HS-810 only needed to be hooked...). My ears are small...
- Two hands are needed to adjust it... so I have to live with it and get better...
- no lanyard provided (got some sort of necklace free, given with my HS-810 in the box)
- not loud enough bipping signals (use it with my w900) for prompts and commands
- range is very good, but inferior to the 3 years old HS-810...

As a whole I would rank it as follow:

MOTOROLA H605
- Sound quality (earpiece): 5/5
- Sound quality (mic): 4.5/5
- Built quality: 5/5
- Overall design: 4.5/5
- Range of operation + sensibility: 4/5

MOTOROLA HS-810
- Sound quality (earpiece): 4/5
- Sound quality (mic): 4/5
- Built quality: 4.5/5
- Overall design: 4/5

Here's a test: place your hand so that it covers your headset while on a call. Can you still hear your party? With HS-810 (three years old! And I used it everyday), everyrthing was OK, and the hand was not an issue at all. Now I have a H605 and hand completely blocks communication...

Anyway, a great piece of unit. Works like a treat (at least so far) and picks up sound really good (voice and the rest). I have attached some pictures for those who may find it necessary:
