bluetooth problems with w800 |

hi i am having serious problems with my bluetooth other people who try to send me files through bluetooth cant see me on their phone has anyone experienced this
i have show visibilty set to on and have switched powersave off
also when i search for their devices its a hit and miss whether they show or not
any help would be greatly appreciated |

would like to know somethings before i answer...
1) does your phone lag most of the time when turning off bluetooth (bt)?
2) does your phone lag most of the time when changing visibility while bt is on?
3) what firmware do you have installed currently?
4) what is the batch number printed on the sticker on your phone at the battery compartment? (should be 05W-something or 06W-something)
5) can you send files to your friends using bt successfully all the time? |

5)once i get them on my searched devices then i can but they dont always show up on my searches

mine's a 05w48 and i experienced all the problems as mentioned with the older firmwares... but after installing the latest 1, there're improvements, but the problem is still there, so i think it's a hardware problem... similar to this: http://www.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=275845
with the latest firmware in my case:
1) significantly less lagging, but still lags.
2) not sure about file transfer, cos i haven't got the chance to thoroughly test it.
i sent my phone to the service center once regarding the problem, but they claim it's a software problem and couldn't fix it. they did not have any main boards avaliable at that time, so now i'm actually finding time to revisit the place.
as for your case, if you're still under warrently, try the service center. i don't think there's anything you can do besides that.

thanks for the reply oit is still under warranty and they want me to send it off somewhere as there is no service centre near me im reluctant to do that but if u say it is a common software problem i think ill live with it as i dont use the feature much but when i do it is irritating when u cant connect tour friends
