Meh, I haven't been here for a while. I got my W800 and was so happy with it, I lost interest in the "phone race"!
After my K700, which I loved, the W800 made it seem like a piece of cheap plastic. The W800 is so sleek and... well... great, that Ive never really felt the need to look at another phone. I did notice the arrival of the W810 and I didn't think it was a step up, and now Im in the last furlong of my contract Im coming back to see what's on the plate. I have to say the W800 has put me off the standard black plastic phones but functionality is always the real reason to buy a phone. Im hoping the K800 will be a suitable step up, though I would like to see a W800 version a la K750. W850 perhaps? The step up in megapixels is always a welcome arrival and I only hope the video recording deos likewise. |

Being a sinner myself and owning a D750i flashed into schizophrenia now believing it's a W800i, I would just like to add that I do have auto focus on the W80... sorry the D750i.
So the W700 is still a step down from the D750i. The D750i basically ships with the firmware of a K750i but comes cloaked as a W800i in different colours. |

I dont get it why companies make downgrades of phones, people want to be moving forward with technology not back, and why did sony discontinue the W800i, i used to have one and found no problems with it, and that was coming from being a dedicated nokia user. I dont see why they dont make phones where you can add and remove software in order to get a product that suits the user best, ie like a pc, more memory different hardware, different software. |

W700 is just a low-end version of the W800. The W810 can do everything the W800 can except for active shutter, so there has never really been a downgrade. Infact the w800 to w810 is really just a side-grade (or think of it as a W800 with EDGE). So far there has been no candybar upgrade of the Walkman series
I'm interested to see what the next candybar walkman phone gets - ie: will it have a 3.2MP camera (no doubt dumbed down compared to the cybershot K800), M2 storage etc ?

If i was to get a D750 and flash it with W800 firmware would it be the same as my W810?
Apart from Edge ?
Does the camera work the same ? Same options and auto focus etc ? |

that's because w700 can only play AAC files in an MP4 or 3GP container. You can use dbpoweramp to convert .aac into .mp4, and possibly SUPER (c)

Picture quality of W700i is bit better then K750i especially when we take pictures in night using mobile light & its viedo quality is also better then K750i, and it is expensive then K750i
I had K750i it was stole then I purchased w700i because its cool function it is ditto copy of w800i in many respect. Question is why I do not perched W800i so in Pakistan the production of W800i is shut down.

I have to agree with max, about 1/3 of the pictures taken are foggy and blurry. The lack of AF is noticeable, but with a little patience you can take pretty good pictures. Since the my phone is mainly for calling and texting I donīt complain too much about the camera. All things considered I think W700i is pretty good. |
