Hey guys. I had a couple questions before purchasing the W810i and was hoping to get some feedback. I honestly don't know, so sorry for sounding kind of naive. Thanks!

1. I'm on Cingular, so if both US and European versions of a phone are quadband, does the European one tend to favor the 1900 band rather than 850? Or, does either phone just find the strongest signal?

2. Living in the US, is there really ever a difference in phone functionality between using a US version of a phone compared to a European one (besides a frequency issue)? I'm just wondering if the US W810i is going to somehow work better in the US than a European one?

3. Is it necessary to use the UK power plug with adaptor with a European phone or can they take the US plug?

Thanks in advance.

The W810, like any other handset, will seek the strongest signal in the area and use that. Neither version will 'favour' a particulalr frequency, they will both use the strongest available.

If the specifications for both versions are the same then there will be no loss or gain in functionality from the manufacturer's perspective. Where things may differ is in terms of network functionality. Not all networks offer the same services so it is possible that a W810 on a particular network might have different functionality to a W810 on another network.

I would have thought that the W810 would be able to take any charger that is designed to fit it.

You will also be able to charge the W810 via the bundled USB cable.

You may like to note that UK plugs are not the same as continental European plugs and the UK uses a different voltage to other parts of Europe. If you have a European charger then you should check which part of Europe it is from before buying an adapter for it.
