Ok, yesterday i sat on my sony ericsson p900, and the screen cracked, doh! I have the software but not the data cable. I heard this is the best forum for sony ericcson's from where I came from (avforums.co.uk)

Anyway the phone isn't important its the contacts on there that is as I have a friend undergoing major heart surgery and also has ttp (if you wanna know what that is google it, its nasty) and I am, apart from his family, the main contact for news etc hence the urgency to get phone numbers. does any one have this phone and guide through the buttons to be able to send the contacts to my new phone or to transfer the contacts to the sim. if that makes sence as the phone is perfect its just the screen that is knackered and can't see a thing.

I got a new w900i today with a new number which is pretty good so far, but again not important as I just need to let people know of my new number.

many thanks Martyn

You need to get your hands on that data cable. in order to bluetooth your contact you need the touch screen to be working and thats not likely if the screen is damaged. with the data cable you can sync the phone with outlook (not express)

all you need to do is switch the phone on and enter the pin. should be easy enough even with no screen!!

this happened to me a while back...

ok, I was hoping i would be able to get away without this cable. Never mind, I've bought one off ebay now for about 4.50. what do I do with microsoft outlook when I've connected the phone? or is it simple?

Once you install the software, you will be given sync setup options. You select the SE software to connect and sync with Outlook and hey presto! You wont need to access any menus on the phone during this setup.

Be aware, as I said in last post, this option will NOT work on outlook express.

Prob not, If you have XP, you might be able to sync the contacts with the generic XP contacts book. But I'm not sure. Other then that you could try downloading a trial ver of outlook if such a thing exists.
