SE Update Service Problem |

Hi
I have just installed the new SE update service to my pc and am using a DSS-25 stand connected via USB2 to my PC.
I have just started the update of my K700i by following the instructions but so far it just seems to be sitting at the Detection In Progress point, been at that point for about 25mins, is this normal? Will I trash the phone if I remove it?
HELP PLEASE
Thanks

Which network are you on? Is your handset branded with the network's firmware? If so then it is unlikely that you can upgrade your firmware using the SE update service.
If your K700 is using the original SE firmware then you should be able to use the firmware upgrade service.
Did the sync station actually detect your K700? Did your PC register that the handset had been connected?
Have you checked to make sure that the COM port being used by the sync station is open and isn't being used by anything else? You might like to try re-installing the sync station software.
If it is just at the detection stage then I don't think it should do your handset any damage to remove it (although don't quote me on that!).

Hi
The handset is debranded running on Orange.
With my SIM Card in, the phone on and in the DSS-25 cradle I can explore my phone using Float Mobile Agent so it must detect it OK.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the SE Update Service as still had the old version on my PC also.
I follow the instructions of selecting language, switch off phone, remove SIM, replace battery and place in cradle but when it starts the Detecting Phone it just never goes past that stage!!
Any idea how long that stage should take?
May try running it on my XP Pro SP1 laptop just incase it's PC related.
Any more ideas are most welcome.
Am only looking to update as am on R2AY004 but my camera sometimes takes a while before the shutter opens and I can see something on the screen, it just seems to freeze the phone at this stage and then all kicks into action again!!
Cheers
