How to use Dual SIM with SE K750i |
scotts Joined: Mar 29, 2006 Posts: 1 PM |
I bought a MagicSIM dual SIM adapter http://www.magicsim.com on eBay.
This allows you to use 2 SIM cards in your K750i phone. It fits neatly under battery.
However, It took ages to discover how to switch SIMs.
So heres how:
The dual SIM adapter adds an extra menu item "Magic SIM" under Entertainment Icon and this allows you to switch between SIM- 1 & SIM-2

My k750 reboot, launch the parameters wizard (time, language, ...), and froze for 2 or 3 minutes before I can use it

Right baste07, but personnaly I'm using it like that :
Using divert calls when unreachable sim1 -> sim2
Most of the time I'm on Sim2 So I received all calls (when a little cost, but ...) and I switch on the simcard1 if I want making calls with this one

Yeh especially on the K750i since you have to go through that annoying phone wizard! I'm using one of the dual sim adapters (from eBay) and it's working fine, however your calls list gets erased as you switch sims. |

Is the MagicSim the one that doesn't require cutting? If so, does it mis-shape the back of the phone?
Or did you buy one that required cutting ? I don't mind cutting, just need to know which fits. |

I'm using Magicsim on my K600i. I'll be listing down some of its features:
- You can switch manually or automatically between 2 sims. I personally use the manual switch especially when i'm out. Auto switch drains the battery faster because, unlike Nokias, SE phones shuts down to switch between sims.
- It doesn't ruin the battery or battery cover because the 2 simd requires some cutting. both sims will be placed in a very small adaptor and a metal cover. Then you can slide this to the sim compartment so there's it's like having one sim only.
- The Magicsim Icon is found in the Entertainment Menu. It replaces your Operators Sim Menu (Globe Srvcs for Globe/The Mall for Sun). The tiltles are editable. Instead of having Sim-1, i renamed it to SE K600
- In the package, there are sim adaptors provided. Just in case, you want to switch in using one sim on your mobile, you can just out the cut sim on the adaptor.
- When you switch sims, SE phones shuts down and turns on automatically. The set up wizard prompts you everytime you do this.
- Call lists for both sims are recorded separately.
- Messages (Sent Items/Inbox etc) are not deleted when you switch between sims.

I have DualSim adapter that doesn't require cutting SIM cards. It also has that menu under Entertainment for switching between SIM cards (manually or automatically).
As, already sad, it takes a long time to switch from one to another SIM.
When I select to switch to another SIM card the phone freezes for 20 sec. then starts to reboot and it hangs before booting (the screen is black) for additional 1 min or so! Then he boots up and it takes a lot longer to boot up then it takes without DualSim adapter.
My question is this:
If I use some of that older DualSim adapters that require to shut down and then power up mobile phone will that be faster then the current switching from that menu? Will I get rid of that 20 sec freeze and long booting after that or not?
P.S. With the use of that DualSim adapter my stand-by time (with the same phone use) is reduced from 4 to 3 days and I only switch SIM cards two times per day (before and after work)!!! |
