Profile sucks on K750 |

I've been using Ericsson and Sony Ericsson phones for 12 years. In my last phone, the K700, I was given the option to choose in every profile what the text message signal would be - for some reason this is not the case in the K750. I can only choose a general text message signal.
Why?
Is this a SE mistake? Is there an upgrade to fix this? Help. |

profiles in K750 pretty suckful. You can't assign different ringtones message tone etc to different profiles.
You can change the alert tone, just not for different profiles. It changes for all profiles.

Ya, you can assign the 'Message alert' signal to one of your own. Pick the sound of your choice; select More, Use as, Message alert.

I believe that that K800i allows you to set custom sms tones for contacts.
I read this somewhere in one of the related threads and feel this sort of progression from previous models makes sense.

Maybe my English sucks as much as the profiles in K750i, but:
In profile Normal I want the message signal to be loud and clear, and I want the ring signal to be a song of my liking.
In profile Silent I want the message signal to be a quiet *click*, and I want the ring signal to be something short and also quiet.
On my K700 I could assign different signals for different profiles, on my K750i I can not.
Why, Sony Ericsson - why?! |

They probably changed it because some dickheads in a user research survey complained that their ringtones change when they change profiles

I agree these are very poor. Nokia do it much better.
What about timed profiles? If you are going to a meeting or cinema and what your phone on silent, your don't want it left on that profile by mistake and miss your calls for days after! |
