Hey guys.
After owning a SE t630, and two k750i's all of which developed really bad problems (still got the k750, trying to get a refund, not sure if it'll happen though...) I am thinking about getting a new phone.
I'm after some ideas as to what to buy. I do have some minimum specs in mind...
1) Must not be SE (until they get their problems sorted)
2) Must have AT LEAST 1.3MP Camera (autofocus is preferred, but AFAIK not many have it)
3) Must be able to play MP3, and set MP3's as ringtones
4) Must be able to record in 3gp or mp4, and play both
5) Must have expandable memory
6) Must have 256k colour
7) Must have bluetooth
Other than that, the options are open. Would also love it if I could get one with built in stereo speakers, that was one major gripe with the k750, the external speaker was so damn quiet that you had to hold it right next to your ear to hear anything, and couldnt really watch a movie on the phone unless you were in a room by yourself. The kinda speakers i'm talking about is the dual 3D speakers like on the Moto E1 ROKR.
So far on the list is..
Samsung D820 (cant set mp3 as ringtones, major turn off)
Nokia 6280 (would be keen but I hear people have bad problems with them, nice specs tho)
Nokia N70 (not really into smartphones though)
Samsung D600 (I dont like the look of the back of the phone lol)
Nokia 3250 (love it, but too damn expensive)
Nokia N90 (not a big fan of clamshells, but its a nice phone, once again too costly tho)
All the phone above are on my 'to be considered' list lol. They all have their good points, and their bad.
So, looking for more suggestions, please feel free to leave me your feedback.
Cheers.

This is the Other Manufacturers section.
I dont have anything against SE, but I would like a phone that I can rely on to do what its supposed to, and not decide to pack up after a firmware upgrade etc.

you are more than welcome to post this here
if you're looking for a break from I guess the Samsung D600 is in favour at the moment but why not take a total change and look at window mobile devices such as the k-jam or if you want standard phone size then the SP5! they certainly meet your criteria and then some (both have wifi)

Well if your 'problem' was a joystick related one, then maybe you should consider the W810. If it were some other problem all I can suggest is not to go for the 3250... I just think that the swivel thing may compromise build quality. I can imagine the swivel at 90 degrees and one pull and your new phone will be gone.
I'd really go for the W810 but otherwise go for the 6280 if you want 3G and radio but if your looking for something a bit cheaper the go for the D600.

Thanks for the input guys
Yeah masseur, I really am just looking for a break from SE. Might look into a k800 when its out, and once theres been a few firmware upgrades.
masseur, as cool as SP5's are, over here they are $1000+. I am really looking for something around the $500 mark (k750's go for about $450, w800's for about $600, D600's for about the same as a K750)
shaliron, no i've never actually had a joystick problem with any of my SE's. On my T630 all the buttons just randomly stopped working one day. My first k750 developed the white screen flashing problem real bad, would freeze when I played vids etc, wouldnt connect to the computer, and in the end wouldnt even connect to the wall charger. My replacement was perfect, until I upgraded the firmware from R1AA008 to the new one. Immediatly after the upgrade, the top buttons on the phone stopped working, as well as the left and down joystick buttons and the 1,2,3 buttons.
I dont think the w810 will be in my price range when it comes out, but definately something to consider. I hear they will have 3D sound internal speakers, this true? If so, thats a major selling point for me lol. I wonder if it will be any more stable than the k750/w800's? Might just have to keep using my cheapo blokia until the w810 comes out here and maybe wait till prices drop a bit. I really like the features of my k750, but its just too unreliable, quite a shame really cos other than that and the quiet speaker its a brilliant phone...

Does anyone know what the external stereo speaker is like on the D600? Good quality? Loud? Clear?

try a U880.
It has all of what you need, is slim, and supports 3g

@ amnesia: I dont like clamshells much. Would prefer candy bar, but dont mind swivel or slide either.
@ solidsingh: Yeah I was seriously considering that phone, but after an hour of reading reviews on the net, it seems they are really buggy etc etc. One site even went so far as to say that 1 in 3 6280's will end up with major problems, or something to that extent.
Haha, I know im hard to please

Ahh, you guys must be a little behind us then, we already have the 3250, N70, and D800, and the D820 which I think is basically the same but has expandable memory, unlike the D800..
Basically, I really really like the Nokia 3250, but at almost twice the price of a k750i, is it worth it?
