I have have Motorola Timeport. I don't use iTap (I am using Tagalog when sending txt) and I don't like the phone. The only function I like and used most is the internal modem.

iTAP is only used by Motorola and T9 the rest of the manufacturers. That aside, iTAP is very similar to T9, however, i've read from HowardChui.com that iTAP is "harder" to use than T9. Well, this maybe a case similar to Nokia interfaces and the rest. |

The newer versions of iTap are awesome. You must have been using an old version back then in 2002.

I don't like itap, i personally prefer t9 predictive text input. For me you can't beat a nokia for texting. Having said this the v600 is a good phone - shame they couldn't just implement t9 instead of coming up with their own texting facility. |

T9 kicks ass!
much better then multitap,
i dont know how i lived without T9.
the best T9 by far is that on a 6230. can whack out a full 160 chars in no more than 15 secs,

The new Itap seems to be very good...it tries to guess the word as you type the letters just like in word/excel...
