Discharged my W800 on accident |

I got a cheap desk stand and Sony Ericsson Battery from Ebay for 13 bucks from hong kong. I believe the battery is a knock off brand, but! It came in a Sony Ericsson plastic box kinda of a thing. I bought this set because my orginal battery was bad, only cold last 2 days from average use. (3 days probably on standby). Well I plugged in the charger to the desktop stand and my w800 wouldn't fit on the stand, so I turned it around and my screen turned red, i immediately removed the cellphone but the battery had drained so much and almost went to red, but then the battery then went back to normal. I was wondering, did I do any damage to the phone or the orignal battery by reversing the charges. |

the best solution is to use original batts. if the fone works fine now with the original batt, then it didnt caused any fw/hw bugs. actually a batt reaches its best performance after ca 2 month, so dont bother with the shorter standby time.

I got this from ebay, I do not know if it is real, it looks little different from my battery but has differen numbers for the ending of the bottom line, so far the "new" (I assume) fake battery is flucuating in percentage.

Yep, always best to use only trusted accessories. Saving a few dollars here and there isn't really the best way to look after your phone.

what are u testing? the charger or the batt? actually once in a month u could drain fully the batt, its usefull.

testing the battery, the charger is quite dangerous to use, if i flip the phone to the other position like I did on accident, the whole battery loses its charges. overall its just redirecting the charging into a stand.
What way should I discharge my battery? Like just play music until there is no power? |

yeah, maybe i will discharge both and see what happens. why i was so against this charger because i thought it fried something in my cellphone. It use to run with Cingular very well in my house, now the signal almost died out. But its just a change. I do not know yet how this battery is holding up. new batteries always flucuate.

dont use that third party batt anymore, its not even worth to test it or make anymore experiments. the 900 mah is more then enough for a comforteable usage, making calls, listening to the radio or mp3 etc

rrr sorry, but im testing it out because mite make my dad mad. XD! My other battery isnt that great. But probably reason why my battery is dieing out because my phone has to constantly find good signal with Cingular card. What do u think? |

indeed, the constantly seraching for good reception does effect batts standbay time. thatswhy is the best way to charge the batt always in off mode
here we discussed batt charging etc days long:

rrr... my third party battery was holding up very well until i came home, dropped 6 percent in 10 mins. When I was out, it only dropped 5 percent in 2 hours. Not that great.
U.S. Cingular in Bay Area is jacking up, i am getting no coverage, that explains it
"Raising the bars" my ass. Yea I know I should be using t-mobile sim card but my dad needs his orginal phone number for business reasons. Kinda odd, he should be using cingular, I should be using T-mobile. =_=
