I've started this thread so everyone can chip in with the program/encoding format you use so we can all acheive the best possible videos on our phones. (sorry in advance if this thread has been made already, but i don't see much on the w900.)
My story goes like this....
I haven't had much luck with mpeg4 videos on my phone. I've used a few different programs (i'm trying mpegable live as i'm typing this, so far no luck) using the phone memory.
The best results achieved so far is using imTOO 3gp converter.
The file format i use is .3gp encoding.
Settings are:
Video codec : xvid
Video size : 320x240 (of course:))
Bit Rate : 256
I haven't played with audio much yet. So far this is the best i've managed to get. Fluid framerate, pretty decent picture. The file size turns out to be about 45-50 megs for a Futurama episode (22-25 mins?).
Has anyone got a better program/encoding set? Post yours here....
P.S. I'll update with anything i find using mpegable.

lower the bit rate setting to 220 and make th audio 96 with aac not amr
and if you do mp4, use the mp4 (3gph263 version) |

been up before and here is a guide with all the info you need
use it and you will get the resualts you hope for
http://www.vapulus.com/w900i/quality.html
Use this conversion guide if you wish to double the audio quality and noticeably improve video quality, in comparison to Nero Recode, Mpegable x4, imTOO, or PVauthor encodings.

thats alot of work lol.. bugger it!
The major problem i face is the sound not going with the movie, a bit like a japanese voice over... what aspect do i need to change to 'normalize' this? Is there a better program than ImTOO?

Hugely appreciated Skibbe. I'm pretty new to these forums, and extremely new to converting videos for phones (my previous phone was nokia 7250i, it served me well!)
Thanks for the link, much appreciated.
Unholysinner, what is the length of the file your trying to convert? Because using my settings in imToo 3gp converter will give you a nice picture, very watchable, if your watching a 30min odd tv show.
I need to play around a bit more with longer shows (feature films). So far i've got a lovely picture quality, sound is spot on, just the framerate is poor. Unwatchable imo.
Hopefully the above link will sort all our probs |

I'll have a look into hosting a file that i've converted tomorrow. One pre and post guide to see what differences are possible. Hopefully i'll get a few more tips. |

I was trying to get the same results as that Black Eyed Peas video that was posted in one of the threads, i was amazed by its quality! I tried doing what the link said and got the programs but i got stuck on stage one with the cutting n all that lol. Never mind, maybe ill find someone who has already converted it for me and just pay for it lol Thanks alot for all your help, much appreciated!! |
