change the colours of the original walkman theme e.g. walkman logo and background, so that the animation is still animated and the logo still looks nice and smooth as it did before?
you see what i'm really wanting to do is to make a walkman theme like the original, but be able to change the background behind the logo and change the 'still animated' logo's colour... is this possible, i think i read on here before that it's hard to do, but surely it is possible. i think it would be so great to be able to produce the original walkman theme in different variations of colours... not just the background but also the 'animated' logo.
anyone?

You would just need to edit the walkman animation wich isn't easy to do! You would also need some pro programs.... But there are lots of walkman themes around the Net, why wouldn't you try one of them, you might like some....

If someone sends me a PM/email with the original animation (i.e. the standby pic, not the whole theme) i'll have a go at it.

It's not that difficult to change the colours of an image or animation. Not if u use the GIMP, as I do. Also available for erhhhm Windows, free to download. Just open a gif-file and all layers will show up in layers-menu. Now you can edit layer by layer. If your animation must be monochromatic, just edit all layers with the same values. Don't merge the layers down as in a single image. It might take some time to find and explore all options, but GIMP is easy to learn, free, and very nice for creating themes and animations. As an example I recoloured the Walkmantheme-animation to b&w. I will send it to you if you like. Recolouring a monochromatic theme like this is easy. Multicolour editing will take a lot more time and mouseclicking effort.
By the way, as an example I took the orange version and made it purple. It's now available on Esato. I hope I did it right as I don't have a w800/k750 myself and my theme creator doesn't work properly for this models.

You can extract the standby image by opening the .thm file in winrar.
Which theme do you want converted and in which colour. Its very easy to change the colour.

Its only actually the standy image i want done, i can do the rest of the theme myself...
I would like this:
http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=3/8014004635.gif&s=x11
To be changed into this:
But i must say that if anyone wants to have a go, remember that the same animation MUST stay and that it needs to be CLEAN. So to sum it all up, i would like the original walkman STANDBY (shown above top), to be changed so that it now has a black background colour and an orange walkman logo (shown above bottom). Please go ahead if anyone wants to have a go at it, or those that say its easy, which it most probably is, please do the same...
Thanks.

yeah, don't get me wrong, all the walkman themes i've seen on websites are very good, yet i always seem to feel that they try to over complicate stuff, for example and great standby, but then all the menu's are a bit odd, or they got the theme right, but then there's some crazy surprise that i won't like in the menu's or standby, or missed bits out in the theme. maybe i'm just too fussy, but i say simplicity is a virtue
