Hi. Anyone know how to do it? I usually edit the song in a program by making it smaller and cut the boring bits out, then save it as a MP3 file...but it never seems to work when i transfer it onto the phone.

How does everyone else do it on their 550i?

Thanks,

i'm also doing what you are doing; trimming out parts of an MP3 to be used as an alarm sound or as a ring tone, and i'm not having problems with it. as for your case, there could be something wrong with what you did. is the file visible on your phone? how do you transfer the file to the phone? please be more detailed...

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The file is visable on the phone, it just comes up with a message saying that it won't work or something.

The way i do it is by copying the file from a folder from my computer and pasting it into the MP3 or ringtone folder that comes up when you connect your USB.

Then i close the box, disconnect the USB and turn on my phone (as it turns off when you've finished using the USB) and then i check to see if its there. It is, but doesn't work. I do the same thing with songs and it seems to work. Its weird...

How do you do it?

prolly the way you re-encode your mp3... i think its alot lower or a bit higher than what your 550 can read.

i mean bitrates... familiar with that? try re-encoding using 192Kbs or 128.
