Email on Z520i? |

I got WAP and email settings to work but have a couple of questions/problems.
1.Once email is downloaded to the phone, it is removed from the server and I can't then pick up the emails on my computers at the office and/or home...does anyone have a fix for this?
2. Is there also a way to set the size of the download, like the Treo 600+ models. For instance, if I just want to read the first 5 or 10 kb and not try to download emails with large attachments, etc.
3. Is GPRS always on, or can it be shut down manually after disconnecting from email and/or internet?
Just got this phone in Singapore and really compact/mulitple features. Bluetooth works great, wish profiles permit multiple ring tones....
Thanks

1. emails downloaded will remain on the server for later downloading to your PC etc. The phone just takes a copy of the messages
2. what you see is what you get. in the account setting/download you can only choose to download full messages (headers and text) or download headers only (after which you can choose to download the full message if you want)
3. In settings, data comm. preferred service you can choose GSM only or GPRS and GSM. If you choose GSM only the GPRS indicator will remain off until your actually use GPRS and will dissapear once GPRS activity is finished

Alternatively, you can get an email application with more features.

yes, I am sure. I have been doing this for a long time on phones and my daughter has the Z520 so I just confirmed specifically on that.
However, if you delete the email on the phone and then do a send/receive again then the emails will be deleted from the server

any suggestions for alternative email app? ideally i'd like to have one that limits the size of download so that say anything over 5kb or 10 kb is restricted. unlike my treo, default email app on z520i now downloads everything which takes forever and is waste of battery. |
