Ericsson and its joint venture partner Sony have withdrawn their T65 model from the market, according to the Swedish website Mobil. The companies decided to recall the model, because of various problems with the phone's software. The T65 model was one of Ericsson's earliest GPRS models, and was launched back in September 2001.

I think that's bullshit.
Today I saw a story about this in the news, where Ericsson denyed having to withdraw the T65 from the market. I work for a Telecommunication company and we have had about 2 T65 phones coming in with problems, but none related to the issues from this newspaper! |

this is a clip from the article:

The paper that has made this up is Comuputer Sweden, and this guy, Roger Bolander, which is chief for SonyEricsson Europe basically says it's pure bs, although all T65's that distributors has are to be examined by SE, either in SE visits the distributors or the disributors will send the phones to SE... |

Bullshit it is.
I work in a store, we've got lots of T65s home at the moment and none of them has been recalled.

hi
i really like the features in t65 which i was planning to get before recently that i heard this news.
May i ask what other problems does it have aside from the humming problem.
Can this be fixed by a software upgrade?
What do you suggest?

My mom and my girlfriend has a t65 and they have no problems at all with them. The only thing was that my mother had the humming problem. i went to a servicepoint here in sweden and they just swapped it for me. After that i havent noticed any problems with it.

As i can say here in Germany, nobody at ericsson side knows about that error. but the customers having a lot of problems with the t65, me included. it is really that sound while the light is on.
so i hope ericsson will find a solution for this situation. soon |
