Does the USB datacable charge the phone? |

I've bought a DCU-10 USB data cable, which I've been having alot of trouble with. I simply can't get it to work. I've heard people talk about that the cable charges the phone. I know the cable gets an electical charge from the usb port, ut is it enough to charge the phone? Or does the batery charger have to be in the cable as well.
The reason why I'm asking is that the cable doesn't charge my phone by it self. Just wanted to know if the cable was broke.

Initially I also thought the DCU cable can charge the phone. It is only after buying it I realise you still need to connect the phone charger to it....also DCU alone does not charge the phone.
The cable still does not detect my phone..now I am using IR instead...you want to buy my cable ? hehe

LOL... I already have one... But I finally managed to get it to work though. Not an easy process, but well... It only took me a couple of weeks! LOL... (sigh). |

I still cannot get my T60d phone to be seen on com port 1 with the data cable.
I saw that someone got it to FINALLY work.
Can you post or send instructions?
I have tried Windows ME and XP.
All I get is a "optimized charging" message that wont go away, even when I push any of the buttons on the phone (it keeps coming back) and the phone will sometimes vibrate (i have it on silent mode) as if I were getting a phone call.
None of the software will recognize.
HELP!

I had the USB data cable, but the official one does not charge the phone!! you need to get a third party one, I used this one:
Mobile Action Fone Data Suite USB Ericsson R320/R520/T39/T65/T68
It only costs €25, on expansys.com.
I does not say anything on the web site about charging,
but when you get the product, there is a new stickers on the box, telling you about the added charge fucntion!!!

Sure, Mobile Action USB cable MA-8910C (C means Charger) charge T68 very good, I forgot about original charger. Also, the software Handet Manager is very useful...
