although we've discussed this quite a bit in the past when they stopped putting mophun on phones my thoughts generally were two things
firstly the licence fee for the mophun engine was probably more than wanted
secondly, java was becoming far more standard across all the other phones and there are alot more games/apps available in java as its an industry standard that many can program in.
by all accounts mophun was a good platform because it was fairly dedicated to gaming but probably didn't want to be different from the rest

I've just done a bit of research and found that Motorola and Nokia both announced Java enabled phones at Comdex in late 2000 and bother brought them to market in mid 2001
I suspect there are alot of people out there still using mophun enabled phones and still enjoying the games.

True. Mophun died even before it became a teenager. And java was the way to go, since then Mophun games are hard to come by. However, a bit out of topic, my question is can series60 phones take Mophun?

I can't say that I ever heard of it but a quick google shows quite a few links saying that synergenix were certainly readying series 60 stuff.
I'm assuming it was along the same lines as the few P series games in that they also supplied the engine to run the games in the install of the games itself
can't find anything totally conclusive though

I've got a whole bunch of Mophun/Synergenix games on my P910i.
I played Mophun games back when I had the T300 and don't have a bad word for them apart from the fact that they were quite hard to find.

i too have the synergenix rally pro contest on my 6670. I looked into the game folder and found these two file: 1) mophunexe.exe and 2) rallyprocontest.mpn i guess these are for running the mophun games on s60 devices. |
