I was just surfing round gsmarena and I saw this! Looks strangely like SE's UI.

its the z200 UI which is shown there.
there was an advert with hyundai mobiles here in india, and one of the phones had the same z200 UI

yes that is definately SE's UI. Rather than it being stollen though isn't it more likely that this manufacturer has licensed it from SE?! otherwise yes SE can, and most likely will, sue! and rightly so.

remember - they could have actually paid se. for it (more likely than not they haven't though - like sendo didn't pay companies for loads of things they used :S )

Ericsson still make phones (well, sort of) for other manufacturers. It's possible that this is one of those, using Ericsson hardware that isn't just for the Sony Ericsson joint venture.
Otherwise it will either be a rip off, or simply an artist impression of a UI that's far worse in reality. All the big companies will show images on the screen that aren't real (or possible), although Samsung does at least say in about 4pt text somewhere on an ad that it's simulated. I can remember when SE got into trouble with the T68 showing a super hi-res picture, but they all do it now!
