Do you think it's worth it to upgrade to the t68i? The only functionality I would want from that from is the Picture Caller ID and screensaver... are there really any other benefits that the "i" model has? Please help me out! |

-Picture phone book (lotsa fun)
-Store as many color pics as you have memory for (100-200 at least)
-Store pics in formats other than BMP (GIF, JPG)
-Store and view animated GIFs and use them as animated screensavers
-Download different themes with title bar pics, etc...
-Use i-melodies (like the heartbeat and walking phone) instead of only e-melodies
-WAP 2.0 browser supporting XHTML sites (much better)
-MMS (send color pics, sounds, etc..) although this is not supported by any US carrier yet
-Record BOTH sides of a conversation and even play it back during a call

Well if you really have the "upgraded" software on your T68m then you have all these things. If you don't have them, then you just have a regular T68m. And yes, it's really worth it!

Hmm... I guess that would explain why I don't have those things! I was tricked by the salesman!! I'm returning this phone tomorrow... I just got it last week! |

By the way... I have the SW version "R2B013".. I'm assuming that's not the upgraded version. Can someone verify? Thanks! |

rodneyf4l, I think your salesman either didn't know what he was talking about (not uncommon) or was indeed tricking you (even less uncommon)
Btw, what country are you in and where did you buy the phone? I am guessing USA and Cingular store, am I right?

Darn, well I was close, hehe. Didn't know AT&T was even still selling the T68m since they now sell the T68i...
Don't know what you payed for it but you can now buy a T68i on Amazon for as little as $49 dollars if you go with T-Mobile or $99 if you want it unlocked (mail-in rebate of course).
Oh yeah, here's the link:

Ya I wondered why other ATT booths had the "i" and the one I went to didn't... oh well, I'm going back there tomorrow to return it. I've only had it for less than a week anyways... thanks for the info!
I actually checked out the link, but I guess they're out of stock right now! |

One more question... is an "upgraded" t68m exactly the same as a brand new t68i in terms of functionality/memory/speed? |
