Walkman phones first on Orange but will be Orange Branded |

Just read an article on TechDigest which states that SE and Orange have signed a deal that will see the Walkman phones released first on Orange. However, there's some bad news...
'The new Walkman phones will be customised to fit Orange’s signature strategy, an easy-to-use mobile interface.'
The Orange interface on SE phones is... AWFUL. Not sure why SE have agreed to this. Why can't operators leave the phones alone?

Orange have said you will be able to turn the Home Screen off in the future, but I guess SE aren't going to strictly enforce their rule of not allowing any customisation when a network operator is about to sign a nice big cheque!
That said, they did customise the W800i a little bit and it wasn't too intrusive. If you can disable the screen, I don't think there will be much to worry about.
