Has anyone noticed the way new Samsung phone models are dubbed after some models? like the new samsung P900, P910, Z600, Z530, etc.
There are 26 alphabets, Samsung should pick some other letters... Copycats

Well that's your interpretation.
Samsung naming is: two/three letters - letter + 3 numbers + possibly one letter.

E.g. SGH-e635, SGH-x497, SPH-A600, VM-A680, SGH-D800, SGH-D500E and so on.

How is that close to ??

Samsung did its numbering scheme before

Oh, and that's like me saying copied Samsung numbers!!! Bad bad bad
has the W600 and Samsung has the SPH-A600. See it's 600 in both!! Ridiculous, isnt it?

The "real" numbering of Samsung is its latest four digits. SGH and SCH only to show the type of the handset whether it is GSM (SGH: Samsung GSM Handset) or CDMA (SCH: Samsung CDMA Handset).
So when comparing the numbering of manufacturers it is fair enough if only latest four disgits of Samsung is considered.
Apple iPhone 4, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Inspire 4G, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, S001, SO905iCS, T650 (Gold & Green), C901, W800, K660, K700, Beibei (G702), Severine (DEAD)

SGH actually stand for Samsung GSM Handset, and so do not really count as designating factors for samsung handsets.
As for who copied who, remember the R380 & R520? these came before the samsung R220.

@Miss uk: I personally have used several samsung models and have not been impressed by them. IMO I believe samsung is only just coming of age. The D750 is the same as the K750 I presume; You must be kidding. D600 over the K750? I must be missing something.

Yea I agree, but they've used so many letters, and there is no order in the use of their lettering for different phone models. For example, the i320 is a PDA-type phone with full qwerty keyboard, yet there's the i300 which is a soapbar phone. The X-series come in soapbar, clamshell and slider models. came thing goes for the P, Z, and D series.

With The P-series represent the PDA-type range
The W-series for walkman music phones
The K-series for Camera oriented phones
The S-series for swivel phones
Z-series for clamshell, etc.
You can see a consistency here. Nokia to some extent exhibits consistency in their phone range.

Without taking a peek, can you tell me what the SGH-D300 would look like? Did I hear you say slider phone?
