The UK SE site has 14 'Coming Soon' phones listed on it, I think that this is too many and they should get a few of these into the shops.

I think its great that has such a broad product range now that they can be offering this many phones.

Its (almost) what we've always wanted!

and I guess its not easy to made products ready at the exact same time that the big events are being held, Smartphone show, Comdex, 3gsm, Cebit etc etc

It's great that they have so many new products being developed but it's taking them too long to get them to the market phones like the J220, W810 and P990 were announced quite some time ago. Announcing new product and delaying it's delivery will cause people to lose interest and go elsewhere.

It would be nice if were like Apple and release their products following the annoucement.

But i agree with some of the comments, its taking far to long for the phones to come into the market....Im getting tired of waiting for the P990 now...I checked with CPW yesterday and they told me that the release date has been pushed yet further. [addsig]

Not only the phones are "coming soon". The MDS-60, MDS-70, MPS-60, HBH-DS970 are also 'coming soon'. For some of these products we've been waiting since october. 'Soon' has now a total different meaning to me ...

Wish SE were more like Apple. When Apple make product announcements/presentations, more often than not the items appear on their website within the hour.

If only SE could do that!

Its easy to have products in the shops within days of announcing when you make your own announcements when the product is actually ready, but prefers to wait for the big events/shows, like many other phone manufacturers and clearly they do not fit the development cycle

I have to admit that the P990 is a bit dissapointing with its delays but that has been common to most of the P series releases

The W900 has not had the "Coming soon" tag on the SE India for about 2 months now... but the phone is still not available. I have given up waiting for it.

for old Ericsson fan we are very happy tht SE can manage to launch a product 3 to 5months after the announcement

It used to be like 6 to 9months before you see the product selling in the shop.

Most mobile phone maker didn't do things like apple did.

partly....apple develope their own hardware and software...so they can control everything before letting the public know.

Company like motorola, SE or nokia cannot because they make the hardware and software for the phone...but the phone need to interface with every mobile phone operator's network which might be running different brand of network equipment.

plus a lot of 3rd party software developer (for java or symbian) also be involved.

Therefore most phone maker tense to announce the product first so all those company aware this and have all the tweaking done.

Yes. But timing the release is equally important. Or else a movie of the same story might have already celebrated a silver jubilee.
