Old SIM making T68i using more power. |

Have anyone here heard about problems with old SIM-cards?
I called SonyEricsson support and told them that I had problems with my T68i falling out of network. Saying "No Access" in my display.
Then the man at support asked me if I had an SIM-card older then 2 years. I said I had. then he asked me if I didn't have so long standby-time and calling-time as other tests have said. Okay, I didn't have that either. Then he said change to a new SIM-card, I did, and now everything is working fine. Why hasn't anyone told me this when I bought the phone. I asked the people I buyed it from, and they have not been told this from either the operator or SonyEricsson. |

If i'm not mistaken, the old sim cards are 6v based and ericsson has started using the 'intelligent' 3v platform since the T28s. Most manufacturers have followed suit and so have the network operators.
You'll notice that 3v cards have a rectangular shape and are smaller while 6v cards are more rounded and larger.
Well, i might be wrong... |
